About Me
I am a Graphic Designer based in Manchester, a mother of two children. I have a BA (Hons) Illustration degree and from this I continue to enjoy painting landscapes of local towns and buildings. Whenever I get the time I also enjoy going out walking.
Work Experience
Shillington College

I went back to college in 2010 to retrain as a Graphic Designer. Shillington College offered an intensive 3 month full time course training students to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
to industry level. It was fast paced
and definitely intense but I loved it!
Shillington College gave me a solid grounding in what good graphic design should look like teaching students about the grid, typography, hierarchy of text, how colours set different tones to a design.
During the course I was taught how to tackle projects from start to finish. Learning how important it is to collate research and inspiration,
to then sketch out ideas, following
on to produce designs on the Mac and finally how to prepare finished artwork for print.
Avalanche Creative

Avalanche Creative helped set me off on my design career. At first,
they gave me work experience which then turned into my first employed design position. I learnt
a great deal from the other designers and the Creative Director. Keeping up to their high standards
of perfection really helped me become a better Graphic Designer.

Life in a design agency was fast paced with short deadlines and numerous projects to look after. Working on anything from leaflets, flyers, logos, exhibition banners to
websites, emailers, social media banners and adverts. I particularly enjoyed working with LDL a seller of high quality furniture components.
I designed many of their emailers which I went on to build in Dotmailer. I also created web banners for product promotions and their flyers for shows. I loved the variety at Avalanche, it was really creative, interesting and a great experience.
Weaveability Ltd

Weaveability develop SAP based B2B websites and customer portals.
In 2014 I began working as part of
the in-house creative team there.
Working closely with the marketing department I produced Weaveability's printed marketing materials and any online banners, adverts and blog images. Along with this I designed Weaveability's own product: it.mx customer portal
an online portal aimed at B2B eCommerce businesses who would like their customers to easily access and manage their accounts online.
I was at the very start of the project collaborating with developers, UX and other members of the Creative Team to produce a user-friendly product that displayed the, sometimes complex, information in
a clear way to users. The portal was designed in Adobe XD and a Design System was set up to keep the components consistent.
